NICOLE K. joined SOS in 2016 as a dedicated foster. When she adopted her foster fail, Bridgette, she realized she wanted to do more to support SOS. After helping other fosters as a Foster Counsellor, she has found her space in her current role co-managing the Scruff Team, which includes all our foster and adoption counsellors, coordinators, bio writers, and more. She came to SOS with a love for dogs (if you need proof, just ask any of her 20+ fosters) and all the qualities of a great leader. Her leadership skills are key for training dogs and managing her team, but are also put to use in her professional life working in insurance. 

When she’s not leading the Scruff Team, Nicole K. is probably reading, baking, cottaging, or cyber-stalking all of her past fosters. She knows there is so much to learn from each dog she supports, which is why she strives to always listen to the dogs. Dogs do speak, after all. But only to those who know how to listen. Sure, it may be corny, but it’s a message that inspires her to match dogs to their perfect homes.
