Female | 2 years old | 35lbs | Medium Energy | Shy but building confidence with other dogs | Dog savvy cats may work | Hasn’t met kids but think she’d be good with dog savvy kids | From Mexico | Fostered in Toronto | Curious & sweet
From the sunny streets of Mexico to their warm foster home, Maple’s journey has got them here to being adoptable!
When she first arrived, she was a shy little soul—nervous and uncertain, but always sweet and gentle. With a lot of love, some patience, and guidance, she’s blossomed into a highly curious and charming dog. 🐾 Her fosters say she's just like Red Riding Hood. Every corner needs sniffing, every sound needs investigating—it’s like she’s wandering her own little forest every day. Plus, she's got a bit of a fox look, don't you think?
Maple is just warming up to the city but she seems to do fine in Toronto and could benefit from continued encouragement, guidance and positive exposure outside. She has done well in an apartment building and think she'd make a good condo dog. She's good in her crate with continued routine.
Maple has not met many other animals, but initially seems shy of dogs but with guidance we think can be fine as a solo dog or with other pets. She has no cat experience in foster care, she has chased squirrels on walks but is calm indoors. Dog savvy cats may be good with her, if she is given guidance. Kids too, she hasn’t met them but with slow warm up and management, we can see her doing fine with a family.
Maple’s big, soulful eyes will melt your heart. Her playful curiosity is infectious - every walk is an adventure, every cuddle a moment of pure joy. And don’t even get us started on her loyalty! She loves her humans so much that you’ll find yourself missing her the moment you step out the door.
She’s obedient, smart and ready to give her whole heart to a family who will love & care her back. She seems like a good fit for a solo owner, family and even first time dog owners!
