Each year, thousands of dogs across Canada are surrendered to overcrowded shelters because their families face financial hardship. Sadly, many of these dogs are at risk of being euthanized due to the lack of space and resources in shelters.

But with your help, we can change that.

Project Prevention is Save Our Scruff’s 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign, focused on keeping dogs with their families by addressing the top reasons for surrender. Your generous donation will provide families with critical support, including; vetting and medical assistance, training and behavioral support, and dog food assistance so no dog goes hungry due to financial hardship.

Funds will also be able to support dogs that have already been surrendered and are awaiting rescue support for the above reasons.

So, you’ve been thinking about fostering for a while, eh? There’s a lot of benefits to fostering a dog. First and foremost, it helps a rescue dog in need of human support and further develops them to get ready for their furever family.
