What is #givingtuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to doing good. It is a global movement with hundreds of millions of participants across the world. What began in the United States in 2012 now spans more than 80 countries. Though generosity is a movement we can embrace every single day, Giving Tuesday comes around once a year and this year it’s happening on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Anyone can take part in Giving Tuesday. To get involved, charities, non-profits, small businesses, community groups, individuals, families (the list goes on) set up their own campaigns to meet goals toward making a difference. Giving Tuesday is a reminder of the good in people and the strength of community as we rally together for a cause.
Keep Dogs in Their Homes This Giving Tuesday
Each year, thousands of dogs across Canada are surrendered to overcrowded shelters because their families face financial hardship. Sadly, many of these dogs are at risk of being euthanized due to the lack of space and resources in shelters.
But with your help, we can change that.
Project Prevention is Save Our Scruff’s 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign, focused on keeping dogs with their families by addressing the top reasons for surrender. Your generous donation will provide families with critical support, including:
Vetting and medical assistance for dogs whose families can't afford necessary care.
Training and behavioral support to prevent issues that could lead to surrender.
Dog food assistance so no dog goes hungry due to financial hardship.
